How To Rebuilding The World by 5G?
Today, when you talk about the Internet of Things with a herdsman, he may be dazed. You talk to the taxi drivers online, they also face the question mark.
But these things are already happening: Cattle Network brings extra revenue to the ranch; taxi smart dispatch systems can dramatically increase the efficiency and income of taxi drivers; and even toothbrushes that you use everyday, Procter & Gamble says enabling toothbrush networking can help To correct improper brushing action.
5G is not far away, it is in fact related to our production and life. 5G is not "science fiction blockbuster", from ecology to technology, it has begun to fall into the actual scene.
From November 15 to November 16, 2017, at the Global MBB Forum 2017, Huawei presented us with a unique 5G tour.
Incubation application innovation, early construction of 5G ecology
5G Internet for all things, this is an opportunity. 5G face the uncertainty of the business model, this is a challenge. At a time when opportunities and challenges coexist, it becomes crucial to try out low-cost trial and error and continue to explore more new 5G businesses.
At the Tokyo Global Broadband Forum in 2016, Huawei announced the establishment of Wireless X Labs, a wireless application scenario lab designed to bring together industry partners to incubate application innovation and build ecology ahead of schedule for 5G.
On November 16, 2017, at the Eighth Global Mobile Broadband Forum in London, Wireless X Labs released a white paper on the top 5G application scenarios. The white paper identifies 5 of the top 10 most promising scenarios for cloud computing: cloud VR / AR, car networking, smart manufacturing, smart energy, wireless healthcare, wireless home entertainment, networking drone, social networking, personal AI helpers and smart cities. Ding Yun, president of Huawei's Carrier BG, pointed out that in the face of many innovative 5G applications, operators can make business choices and incubations based on their strategies and rapidly build capabilities to win the next 5G commercial success.
For example, cloud-based VR / AR solves the traditional VR / AR head display processing capacity, storage and battery capacity constraints, cloud processing and rendering and then sent to the local low latency network with high bandwidth to enhance mobility and user Experience, activate industrial vitality.
Another good news is that since the establishment of X Labs in the past year, the number of partners has increased to 271 and 47 global projects have been established. Behind the fast-growing numbers, it shows that the partners in the vertical field are positive about the 5G, proving that the application value of 5G is real.
From 1G to 4G, our networks are serving mobile phones. For the first time, the 5G will extend large-scale connectivity to everything. No ready-made business model, incubating applications and building ecology ahead of schedule is crucial. However, we can not overlook another big challenge: the flexibility and cost of the network.
For the 5G era, concerned about the three elements of the network
At this year's Global Mobile Broadband Forum, Deng Taihua, president of Huawei's wireless network product line, presented how to address the new challenge of diversified services and diverse connectivity in mobile networks. In his keynote speech, the 5R era SingleRAN, mobile network full cloud and wireless intelligent Three network elements to help operators build a converged multi-service network, fast, low-cost new business opportunities.
During the forum, Huawei released the SingleRAN solution for the 5G era. The solution further enhances the capacity in terms of capacity, coverage and reliable low latency, and supports the smooth evolution of the 5G in the future. One set of equipment can provide the capability of multiple sets of equipment and ensure continuous protection Operators have a network based on the ability to operate a variety of business.
For cloud-based mobile networks, Huawei unveiled the first full-cloud solution for Mobile Cloud wireless networks at the 2016 Tokyo Global Mobile Broadband Forum in Japan, covering CloudEdge, CloudAIR and CloudRAN, opening the mobile network to the all-cloud era. CloudAIR rebuilds the air interface with the concept of cloud and efficiently shares the air interface resources such as spectrum, power and channel to improve the air interface efficiency and enable operators to more flexibly deploy networks and provide a better user experience.
At this forum, Deng Taihua announced that CloudAIR has entered the 2.0 phase, further boosting the GUL spectrum sharing efficiency by more than 100% and supporting the more flexible and higher proportion of resource sharing between LTE and 5G NR in both dimensions in time domain and frequency domain.
At the same time, under the tide of intellectualization in the whole world, the intelligence of the network itself is also an inevitable trend. According to Huawei's statistics, the cost of manual operation and maintenance is 3-4 times the cost of communication network equipment itself, and 70% of major network failures are caused by man-made mistakes and other causes. As the network becomes more complex, the services provided need to be more reliable, which is obviously unsustainable.
Another innovative attempt at wireless intelligence is to refine traditional cell management into hundreds and thousands of smaller virtual grid management units, each grid intelligently trained by gathering large amounts of data to bring network optimization to a smaller extent value. Wireless network for rasterized real-time data and historical data structured to form a network fingerprint, combined with machine learning algorithms, wireless resources can be more sophisticated intelligent scheduling. For example, the historical experience of grid-level data to determine the quality of each carrier signal through the intelligent scheduling algorithm to ensure that users are always attached to the best carrier, in order to protect the best user experience.
Any technological change is inseparable from the technical and ecological / business model to jointly promote objectively speaking, to achieve the ultimate vision of 5G, the road is still twists and turns, which requires more industries, consumers involved and reached a consensus. At this year's Global Mobile Broadband Forum, Huawei has interpreted how mobile has reshaped the world from the ecology to the technology. In our opinion, its greatest significance is to inject greater confidence in the entire ecosystem including the vertical industry.
