Recently, the National Development and Reform Commission issued a document to organize the implementation of a new generation of information infrastructure construction projects in 2018, including three key projects: “Fast Country” demonstration and supporting project; 5G scale network construction and application demonstration project; National Wide Area Quantum Security Communication backbone network construction of a project.
Among them, the “Notice” pointed out that the municipalities directly under the Central Government, capital cities and the Pearl River Delta, the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region as the focus of major cities to carry out 5G scale networking. The 5G network should cover at least the complicated urban area and the indoor environment to form a continuous coverage and realize the application demonstration of the end-to-end typical application scenario.
Indicator requirements:
Clearly establish 5G networks in no less than 5 cities in the frequency band below 6GHz, with a number of 5G base stations in each city being not less than 50, forming a continuous coverage of dense urban areas;
The whole network 5G terminal number not less than 500;
To provide users with not less than 100Mbps, millisecond delay 5G broadband data services;
Implement at least 2 types of typical 5G services and applications such as 4K HD, Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality, and UAVs.
“Coverage below 6GHz band”, “End-to-end construction” and “5G services and applications” cover the entire 5G ecosystem. From a unified spectrum and end-to-end network technology to application innovation, “The importance.
The band below 6GHz is the core band of 5G with both continuous coverage and mobility advantages. Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has planned 3300-3600MHz and 4800-5000MHz frequency band as the working frequency band of 5G system to promote the global spectrum unification and form the scale effect.
At present, China’s 5G technology research and development test organized by China’s IMT-2020 (5G) Propulsion Group has completed the second phase of testing and has started the third phase of work.
In September 2016, the first phase of China’s 5G R & D test was successfully completed, fully testing the performance and function tests of 5G’s key wireless and network key technologies, including large-scale antenna, new multiple access, new multi-carrier and high Frequency band communications and other seven key wireless technologies, as well as network chip, mobile edge computing four network key technologies.
In September 2017, the second phase of the 5G R & D test in China was basically completed. The phase was mainly based on the test prototype verification platform and some pre-commercial hardware platforms. Combined with the 5G typical scenario, the 5G technology solutions from different vendors were evaluated to support 5G International Standard formulation, to carry out multi-docking system equipment and chips / meters, to lay the foundation for the cultivation of 5G industry chain.
Recently, the third phase of 5G technology research and development test has been officially launched. The target of the third phase is mainly based on 3GPP R15 standard version, developing 5G pre-commercial equipment, testing multi-base station networking performance and 5G typical application related technologies, supporting 5G Scale test in full swing to promote the major aspects of the industrial chain basically reached the commercial level.
